Resilient AI Infrastructure Initiative
Building the national standard for responsible AI infrastructure
THE PROBLEM
Artificial intelligence is driving one of the largest infrastructure buildouts in a generation, creating unprecedented demand for power, water, land, and supporting infrastructure. But the ability to build is increasingly constrained by the ability to secure community trust and regulatory approval. The underlying issue is the absence of a common standard. Developers, communities, regulators, and investors have no shared, independently credible way to determine what responsible data center development looks like. Existing sustainability standards are fragmented and weighted toward carbon and energy, leaving the broader environmental, economic, infrastructure, and community impacts that decide project outcomes largely unaddressed. The result is uncertainty, delay, and development risk at precisely the moment the United States needs to expand this infrastructure quickly.

THE SOLUTION
ATBF is developing the Resilient AI Infrastructure Standard: a comprehensive, data-center-specific standard for defining, measuring, and independently verifying responsible and resilient AI infrastructure. It sets clear, measurable, and regionally appropriate expectations across the full data center lifecycle.
